EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS MANDATORY
Master's degree in public policy, public health, economics, statistics, social work, sociology, gerontology or a related field.
A bachelor's degree with 8 or more years of directly relevant experience is also accepted.
WORK EXPERIENCE MANDATORY
At least 5 years doing policy or data analysis.
At least 2 years running projects day to day, including tracking hours and deadlines.
Proven writing skill. Must be able to draft a clear memo or brief with little editing.
Experience with at least one federal survey or administrative data set.
Working knowledge of at least one of SAS, Stata, R or Python.
Experience working on several projects at the same time on short deadlines.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS NICE TO HAVE
PhD or second advanced degree. Training in systematic review methods. Section 508 accessibility training."
WORK EXPERIENCE NICE TO HAVE
Past federal contract work, especially with HHS.
Knowledge of behavioral health, disability, aging, long term care or human services policy.
Experience coordinating expert panels.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Run assigned projects day to day. Keep the work on schedule and inside the hours agreed.
Draft project work plans and budgets for the Project Director to review.
Write first drafts of memos, briefs, reports and meeting summaries.
Do the analysis on smaller projects and support the senior staff on larger ones.
Search and screen literature, and pull the findings together.
Prepare materials for expert panels and take the notes that become the summary.
Direct the work of research analysts and research assistants on assigned projects.
Check facts, figures, sources and citations before anything goes out.
Track hours spent against hours budgeted and flag overruns early.
